Turin: sentencing requests “Operation Scintilla”

Tuesday 29th November one of the last hearings in the first instance trial involving the 18 accused in the struggle against former Cie (now Cpr) and the expulsion machine.

Prosecutor Emanuela Pedrotta asked for sentences ranging from 2 years and 6 months to 6 years and 4 months plus 20.000 euros fine for each of the three comrades with the highest demands.

In the coming weeks, arguments for the defence will take place and the verdict is expected on 20th December.

The operation was triggered on 7 February 2019 to coincide with the eviction of the Occupied Asylum and sees more than a decade of struggle against administrative detention on the stand in addition to the defendants.
