Naples, Italy: Conference at architecture department interrupted in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and against 41bis
Conference at architecture department interrupted in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and against 41bis
Yesterday, 2nd December, at Federico II University’s architecture building in Naples, a solidarity group interrupted a conference ‘on the right to university studies in the penitentiary system’, which was taking place as part of the National Conference of Italian Penitentiary University Poles. The Provost of the Penitentiary Administration of Campania, a representative of the Supervisory Court of Naples, the Cnupp president and the National Guarantor of Persons Deprived of their Liberty were taking the floor.
There were chants and an intervention in solidarity with the anarchist comrade Alfredo, for a month on hunger strike against the 41bis regime he is being subjected to and life imprisonment, a banner was opened with written “41bis and life imprisonment State torture” and some flyers were thrown commemorating the 2020 prison state massacre.
The hypocrisy of a democratic State that cloaks itself in so much fine talk about prisoners’ rights and guarantees when it is the same one that produces the most nefarious deeds was pointed out. The same hypocrisy was confirmed by the applause of someone, in an audience patently composed of “insiders,” who somewhere between paternalism and provocation wanted us to believe that they agreed with the intervention. They were told to keep their hypocritical applause and go ahead and talk to each other about how good and beautiful democracy is, while the Italian state continues to be the daily perpetrator of the most heinous massacres.
And to anyone who might have been sincerely touched by our words, well … maybe it’s time to get out of university lecture halls.
It’s time to end these kermesses! Let’s take action!

Genoa, Italy: Presence in solidarity outside the court in support of Evelin and Gianluca
Wednesday 7th December 9am – Presence outside the court of Genoa in support of Evelin and Gianluca, the comrades remanded on charges of subversive association with aims of terrorism, attempted murder, manufacture, detention and possession of explosive material. Evelin and Gianluca will be present in court.
We stand by them, as we stand by all comrades affected by repression, in defence of the practices of struggle.
At 6pm meeting at lo Spazio di Documentazione “Il Grimaldello” for the presentation of the latest issue of the anarchist paper Vetriolo.
This is the issue that came out following Operation Sibilla – which includes Giancluca among the persons under investigation – repressive operation that called for, among other things, the shut-down of the newspaper.
For us, it will be an opportunity to insist on the need not to be silenced by repression, a need all the more pressing in these weeks of intense mobilisation against 41 bis and alongside Alfredo Cospito on hunger strike.
We will discuss this with some of the editors of Vetriolo
Followed by aperitifs benefit for the comrades struck by the repression.

Milan, Italy: Solidarity presence in court for Dayvid’s hearing
This morning, 2nd December, we went to the Milan court to greet Dayvid, the Milan comrade serving 6 years’ prison for the day of revolt of 15th October 2011. Dayvid was present in court as he was on trial for a matter related to the campaign “Rompere il silenzio” [Break the silence] linked to solidarity with those arrested on May 1st in Milan against Expo 2015.
The hearing was open, so we managed to snatch a few greetings from the comrade, who seemed to be in good shape and in high spirits. During the hearing he asked to speak in order to read a statement in solidarity with the hunger strikes of Alfredo, Anna and Ivan and to reassert how the 41 bis regime is a refined and legal system of annihilation of the individual, torture for all intents and purposes. We do not have his written words yet, which have been filed in the records, but his gesture was greeted by warm applause from the comrades present.
The hearing ended with the prosecutor’s request for a time limitation, which was accepted by the judge.
A reminder that Dayvid is locked up in the prison of Civitavecchia.
To write to him:
