France, Crest (Drôme): Two nights of tagging

[…] After a first major wave of tagging on the night of Tuesday 23 to Wednesday 24 of November 21 ,it was the same again last night. The taggers struck hard, “bombing” the walls of the cemetery and the Armorin high school, as well as numerous facades. Messages in round letters and written in black paint, with anarchist tendencies, flanked by the acronym of the circled A for some. On the facades or walls of businesses, one could read: “Ecocidal bastards”, “Support for Guadeloupe”, “Let’s free ourselves from slavery” or “If a policeman says papers, if I answer scissors, I’ve won?

In total, 36 tags, some of which were signed by a mysterious “Toucourt tags collective”, were recorded by the gendarmerie and the Crest municipal police. Contacted by phone, Hervé Mariton, mayor of Crest, strongly condemned these acts which have “a cost” and “degrade the town”. The municipality has decided to file a complaint.
