11^th November 2021 dozens of searches were carried out in the homes of anarchist comrades in Genoa, Carrara, Pisa, Cremona, Bergamo, Roma, Perugia, Viterbo, Lecce, Taranto, Cosenza and Cagliari before dawn. The investigation carried out by the ROS carabinieri on order of Perugia prosecutors focuses on anarchist sobillazioni [instigations], particularly the paper Vetriolo and “alongside” counter-information websites such as roundrobin.info and malacoda.noblogs. The main charge against the comrades is that of having formed and/or participated in a subversive association with purposes of terrorism (270bis), as according to the cops, through the publications mentioned above the comrades allegedly instigated to commit terrorist acts against the State.

Besides dozens of raids all over the peninsula, there were 6 custodial measures: the “arrest” of Alfredo, already imprisoned in the jail of Terni, a comrade subjected to house arrest with electronic tag and another 4 with compulsory residence and signing.

The democratic system is the best you can aspire to live in: in it all freedoms are guaranteed. Let’s take freedom of the press and freedom of expression as examples; under democracy it is possible to say and publish everything, provided it is what the democratic system allows one to say and publish.

One of the most important guarantors of these freedoms is to be found in public prosecutor Manuela Comodi of the Perugia prosecutor’s office, who in a brilliant police operation unleashed her watchdogs – the ROS carabinieri – to raid the homes of numerous anarchists in Italy, looking for anarchist publications no less! And think, she even managed to find them… To tell the truth it wasn’t that difficult; like looking for philosophy books in a philosopher’s home or paintbrushes in a decorator’s workshop…

On Saturday 6^th November we took to the streets in Turin with a demo against evictions, borders and CPRs.

Following the umpteenth eviction of a self-managed shelter in upper valley, we decided to start off from the centre of the city to give visibility to “the border”, a murderous mechanism that the State wants to conceal in silence. The names of the responsible for evictions and of those complicit in deportations and CPRs were repeated with strength.

At 4am in the morning of 11/11/2021, the ROS [Carabinieri Special Operations] raided the homes of dozens of comrades all over Italy on orders of the PM Comodi in an investigation set off by the usual Nobili and Basilone.

Alfredo, in prison for having shot at Adinolfi, CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, and for ”operation Scripta Manent”, was notified of yet another pre-trial detention; another comrade is under house arrest, four more were subjected to an obligation to remain in their own area with regular signing.

The main accusation is of having constituted and promoted an association with aims of terrorism, an accusation in particular revolving around the paper “Vetriolo” and some articles published in it.

Linked to this operation, the editors of Roundrobin were notified the same evening that they are under investigation: the accusations (threats, incitement to commit crimes, association with terrorist aims) are linked to the publication of some writings which in the cops’ opinion are signed by some of the comrades under investigation.

As Roundrobin we have always wanted to give space to all anarchist ideas and debate and are proud to have published the writings of the comrades under indictment.

Despite the difficulties due to which the site has been on hold for almost a month, we will now recommence giving space to the contributions that reach us, no matter what the shit servants of power think.

Our comrade Guido will be put under surveillance for two years, with an obligation to stay.

A few days before the hearing, the prosecutor Dambruoso had presented an integration so that the court could express its opinion not only on the “qualified dangerousness” for terrorist crimes, but also on the general dangerousness. And it is in fact on the basis of the latter that the request was accepted.

The Israeli army exercises in Sardinia

Fate really seems to be making a mockery of us, but us who? Those who were in Teulada the other day and all those who cannot bear the presence of the military in Sardinia, especially when they are Israeli.

A few weeks after the bombardments of Gaza which the entire world was talking about, against which so many words were said by institutions, the media, parties, citizens, etc., here we are facing the inconsistency of the relationship between our ideas and practices and the falsity of those of many faces.

On the morning of Monday 18 October, after 4 days of blockades, demonstrations and permanent presidium’s , the police evicted with the use of violence those demonstrating in front of the entrance to the port of Trieste. Thousands of people then moved in demonstration through the streets of the city, up to Piazza Unità, while in the evening the protest intensified. In the area next to the harbor, protesters responded to the massive use of police force by setting up barricades in the streets.

Throughout Italy, in these hours hundreds of demonstrations in solidarity are occupying the main squares of the country.What happened in these hours has no historical precedent neither for the city of Trieste, where protests of this intensity had never taken place in living memory, nor for the movement against the Green Pass.In these lines we will therefore try to give a quick account of how we arrived at the current situation: for reasons of space it is therefore a partial, incomplete account, in which both the complexity of the political dynamics is necessarily reduced, and at the same time some major events are not reported.

THE TRUTH CAN BE UPSETTING BUT IT IS STILL THE TRUTH

In the night between 1^st and 2^nd September we were stopped in Via Cavour and accused of having put up posters without permission. A simple administrative sanction was not enough for the police, they wanted to pile it on by charging us with “publication or spreading of fake, exaggerated or tendentious news aimed at upsetting public order” (Art. 656 of the penal code). To be accused of spreading fake news precisely by those who defend a system which always lies, manipulating and terrorizing the population with the aim of legitimatizing the most abject political and repressive practices is paradoxical to say the least.

But what did those posters say that was fake?

Is it not true perhaps that society is aiming for the complete digitalization of every aspect of our lives, even the most intimate?

NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME AS BEFORE, FOR YOU

«I’d like to point out that in all the most serious cases the institutions have proved to be compact: magistrates, prefects, police and all the other forces intervened without hesitation making the face of the State even more determined before the delinquent acts that were being carried out». The words which former Minister of Justice Alfonso Bonafede used in parliament to claim the March 2020 massacre in Italian jails can be actually applied to everything that has happened over the past two years.

Millions of people were finally able to observe the true face of the State. First they locked us in our homes for three months, then it was the turn of night curfew, of regional closures, of so-called semi-lockdown (when we could go out of our homes, yes, but only to go to work). Finally we arrived at the so much awaited «restart».

Economic recovery at all costs is certainly not a «return» to freedom and happiness for individuals but a demand for total self-abnegation towards the needs of the market. There is a red thread linking dramatic episodes such as the Mottarone massacre [on 23^rd March 2021 a cable car crashed to the ground from the summit of Mottarone, a mountain near Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, killing fourteen passengers], six deaths a day at work, attacks on porters on strike and imposing the green pass on all workers: this red thread is called the restart of the capitalist economy. The only thing they are interested in is that the economy doesn’t stop again, that there are no outbreaks at workplaces. Never must the car stop again, they’d rather cut the brakes. The car must not slow down, it will run over us rather.
