Turin, Italy – Cassation for operation Scripta Manent: solidarity initiative in Turin

On 25th May the Court of Cassation will decide concerning the trial related to the “Scripta Manent” investigation at which one comrade, Anna, was sentenced to 16 years and 6 months, and three comrades, Nicola, Marco and Alfredo to 13 months, 21 months and 20 years respectively.

Among the charges they were sentenced for, as well as that of subversive association and related crimes, for some there is the charge of massacre. As always the State is implementing a policy of reversal of responsibilities given that it is the State itself that commits massacres unpunished in wars, prisons, seas, workplaces, streets, every day in its constant affirmed practice of the monopoly of violence.

When someone tries to break this monopoly, returning an infinitesimal part of state violence, they are harshly repressed.

Therefore, what is on trial are revolutionary practices that anarchists have for ever upheld and which have always been part of their path.

Behind this, as in other court cases, is the investigators’ attempt to re-read the history of the anarchist world under their own magnifying glass, dividing it into good and bad.

The aim of the trial is the will to silence the comrades by dishing out years in jail.

Let’s oppose this repressive logic, let’s return to sender the responsibility for massacres, let’s defend revolutionary practices.

Saturday 21st May we’ll be in the streets in Turin, 10am, Piazza Borgo Dora, Balon area.
