Down with the EU`s borders!
Against a state of indifference!
For weeks now it has been clear that inhumane conditions also prevail at the Polish-Belarusian border. With the onset of winter, the situation has worsened: Thousands of people are stuck at the Polish border, trying to find their way into the EU through the cold and harsh forests. Poland’s border policy – like the policies of the rest of the Schengen states – leaves no room for doubt: The European Union is building on ever-higher walls. The border is under constant strict technological and military surveillance and illegal push-backs – the deportation of those who do make it across the border – are not the exception but the rule. Journalists and aid organizations are still denied access to the Polish border area. What images are released to the public is part of a political calculation and is solely in the hands of the authorities.

We know only too well the cruelty with which human lives are abused as pawns of international politics.
And despite all those who have had their lives taken from them in the Mediterranean, in the English Channel and now on the Polish-Belarusian border, this cruelty seems to have become the new norm.
What is currently happening at the Polish-Belarusian border is not only an expression of the anti-human politics of Poland and the European Union, but is part of the calculated normalization of misery and death of many migrants at all external EU borders.
The EU border protection Frontex, which is also financed with Swiss money, takes care of the Schengen states dirty work by participating in push-backs and actively letting people die. Annually, Switzerland finances Frontex with 17 million Swiss francs. By 2027, however, that figure is expected to rise to 96 million. These figures make Switzerland’s interest clear: keeping borders tight to not endanger its own economic wealth. A wealth that is based on supplying weapons to war zones and taxing large companies here while they’re destroying the environment elsewhere. This is how Switzerland and other European countries create the conditions that now force millions of people to flee. And at the same time, through Frontex, they ensure in the most brutal way that the fortress of Europe remains untouched.
Let us send our solidarity to people on the run/on the move and be aware that many images and stories of self-determined and defiant ways do not reach us.
Anger and solidarity on to the streets until the fortress of Europe collapses!
Against walls, fences and controls! Freedom of movement for all!
Come with masks and in affinity groups
